The World Hockey Association Reports The Montreal Nordiques Join The
WHA Junior A Hockey League As Part of its New Eastern Division.
VANCOUVER, BC--(MARKET WIRE)-June 04, 2007 -
The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA.) reported this
morning that the Montreal Nordiques have joined the WHA Junior A
League's Eastern Division as its newest franchise for the upcoming
2007-2008 season
The Montreal Nordiques are expected to be one of at least seven to
nine new franchises in the WHA's newly established Eastern
Division. WHA league officials anticipate the WHA will have up to
three franchises in and around Montreal, one in Quebec City, and three
to five more located in the Northeastern United States.
An official press conference will take place at the Quality Suites
Hotel in Pointe-Claire, located at 6300 Trans-Canada Highway in late
June 2007. The Montreal Nordiques owner Gary Gaul and defensemen
Michael Oldrich, will represent the Nordiques Franchise at the press
conference. Ricky Smith, CEO of the World Hockey Association, WHA
Junior A League officials, and former WHA greats will be in attendance
representing the WHA
