Here is the latest. I took this off yahoo. it was posted by another
poster. I checked it out and it is true. so do the same.
3 brief filings appeared over the last several days.
1. An announcement that the Honorable T. John Ward and the Honorable
Chad Everingham will attend a status conference on May 1, 2008. The
purpose of this conference is "to assign a claim construction hearing
date and a trial setting."
2. Reaffirmation that patent 6,029,175 held by Teknowledge is at the
heart of the dispute.
3. A new counsel, Melissa Smith of Gillam & Smith, LLP will be
appearing on behalf of Teknowledge.
Here is a brief bio that I found on Smith from the Internet:
"Texas attorney Melissa Smith was elected to serve as First Vice Chair
of the Women's Caucus for 2007 - 2008.
Smith is a partner in the law firm of Gillam & Smith in Marshall,
Texas. She is Board Certified as a specialist in personal injury trial
law by the State Bar of Texas and as a civil trial advocate by the
National Board of Trial Advocacy. She has also been inducted to the
prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates. She obtained these
accomplishments prior to age 35.
An AAJ member for 10 years, Smith has served on both the Board of
Governors and Executive Committee as well as serving on countless
other committees and chairing the Member****p Oversight Committee for
two years. This year she received the AAJ F. Scott Baldwin Award for
"Most Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer."
Smith received her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994
and her law degree from Baylor School of Law in 1997."
The painstakingly slow judicial process churns forward. We are years
away from a trial and my strong guess is that this case will settle
like the others before the US District Court judges have an
op****tunity to rule. FWIW, it is a positive sign for Teknowledge that
a young hot-shot lawyer (and her law firm) has enough interest to add
another duty to her busy schedule on a contingency basis.
(If your not finding any information on "TEKC" Teknowledge corp. palo
alto ca. then you not trying at all. It is all over the place.
