Once again Almanc shows itself to be a
MMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNN
Winter starts with the winter solstice and ends with the vernal equinox,
a
period of 3 months. However winter in much of the norther hemisphere as
defined by the times of first peristant snow and last thaw has
historically
been 1 to 1.5 months longer.
Since the mid 1970's there has been a growing trend to significantly
warmer fall seasons as well as early warming in the spring seasons that
have
eroded between 2 to 3 weeks from the each side of the winter season which
have also grown significantly warmer on average.
On average it is if the coldest month or 1.5 months of winter have been
removed and the season condensed from either side.
