Professor Don Aitkin AO decided to spend 12 months checking what the
fuss over man-made global warming was. His conclusions:
Is the planet warming? Maybe.
Is the warming unprecedented? Probably not.
Is it our fault? Again, maybe.
Are we likely to see rising sea-levels? Not in our lifetimes.
How reliable are the computer models on which possible future climates
are based? Not very.
He has firmer theories, though, why a dubious theory is made out to be a
holy truth.
Reader Stephen says the curious thing about this sensible piece is that
the Canberra Times published it.
Must be the new editor!
