Tasmanian Premier Paul Lennon and Gunns John Gay hatched the pulp mill
scheme over a long lunch on the Hobart waterfront. Years later and $100
million or so of public money wasted on Gunns dream of total native forest
conversion into shareholders dividends, and things are looking desperate.
With landholders along the 60 kms or so of water and effluent pipelines to
the mill and Bass Straight showing resistance to allowing access, Paul
Lennon has picked-up his legislative sledge hammer. Yes the public can
build all his home renovators pipelines under compulsory land acquisitions
in the name of carbon production, cor****ate profit, mate****p....and er,
"benefits to the community." One of these 'benefits' is having dioxin
enter what is now a healthy foodchain.
