no the reason it is refered to as the earths lungs is because some writer
romantic fantasies, more than 60% of free oxygen comes from marine
organisms
like plankton, this is part of the problem for the global warming lobby
they
keep spewing romantic nonsence, its like that moron who says that the sun
has no effect on global warming, his qualifications should be revoked
because, as as a fully qualified astrophysicist I am here to tell you that
the sun is always the greatest influence on earths climate, second is the
axial tilt of the planet, third is the position of continental land m*****
and their effect on ocean and wind currents, atmospheric composition is
well
down the list. This phurphy is an exact repeat of the cfc debate, where a
very useful group chemicals were abandoned because there is a hole in the
ozone layer, completely ignoring the fact that the hole had been there
since
the first time it was checked (in the early 1920's) and the one (and ONLY)
place a fully closed ozone layer existed was in theoretical models.
In the end i'm not going to vehemently oppose reducing carbon emissions,
becuase its not a bad idea generally speaking (irrespective of climactic
temperature) but if even half of the proposals of the more radical greens
are adopted well be back to being cave dwelling hunter gatherers within
two
generations.
