I'm looking for a low market exposure brokerage in which to hold TIPS
in an IRA for 10 years or more. This is intended to be a repository
for the highly secure portion of a portfolio, similar in function to
gold, but without the downside risk, and with the prospect of making a
small amount above inflation. I would therefore like to avoid market
makers and investment banks and brokerages or wire services owned by
such or with significant exposure to market conditions. The only such
brokerage I have found so far is Edward Jones, but I would like to
find one or more alternatives with lower markups and commissions.
