Why can't the public purchase s****t franchises?

Why can't the public purchase s****t franchises on the stock exchange?
Is it because they are too profitable?

S****ts is, after all, a subsect of the entertainment industry, and if
we can buy publicly traded shares of Viacom, GE (which owns MSNBC),
and so on, why aren't there many publicly traded shares of a baseball,
football, or basketball team?  Instead, they are all owned by 1 person/
family.
