Worry is not a factor. At this point, nobody knows what's going to play
out.
In the past 20 years, we have seen ****fts of as much as 18 points one way
or
the other over the course of a campaign, which in this case isn't even
going
to start until late summer.
As far as money is concerned, one of those two sums of money won't play in
the election, and it awaits to be seen if Democrats (many of whom will be
financially tapped out by the time the nomination is made) will be as
enthusiastic about the general election as they have been about the
nomination fight. OTOH, it would not suprise me to if most GOP donators
have
held their powder, considering that the candidates didn't generate much
interest during the nomination season.
If history is any teacher, one can comfortably say that both candidates
will
be tapped out financially in November, and it's unlikely that the money
will
be the deciding factor.
However, if it is true that Democratic money becomes a key variable in the
results of the election, I'm sure the Republicans will have no trouble
referring to the new President as the "best that money can buy."
