The news on the slowdown of the Altius refinery sux big time and not
just b/c I'm a stockholder of ALS.TO
Another issue is that Newfoundland and Labrador is the poorest of the
provinces and does not have the credit rating to even sponsor an
industrial development bond to get the project going even though the
project promises to develop into being one of the largest employers in
the province
So if any of our Dr. Pangloss wannabes tells you that the mortgage
crisis does not impact him/her, here is an example of how a project
that could benefit all of North America in many ways gets bucked by
the mortgage crisis and a dysfunctional US administration.
