2008 1Q Update

by Don Tiberone <s_knight8@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 31, 2008 at 11:42 PM

For the quarter, I was down 1.4%. The S&P500 was down 9.5%.

Sector Allocations

Foreign Bonds 17%
Asset Allocation Funds 15.2%
Global Value Funds 9.9%
Bonds 8.8%
Bear Funds 7.6%
Long/Short Funds 6.4%
Natural Resources 5.7%
Emerging Markets 5.6%
Hedge Funds 5.2%
Alt Energy 2.6%
Agriculture 1.3%
Balanced Funds 1.0%
Water 1.0%
Cash 12.7%

Not a great quarter even though I significantly outperformed the
S&P500. Nonetheless, very disappointed. I made the right bets. Most
commodities were up double digits during the quarter. Yet commodity
stocks tanked. That's ok though. That only makes the stocks more
cheaper. I was actually up at the end of February. But I went into the
red when commodities tanked during March. At one point, I was ahead of
the S&P500 by 12 percentage points. I lost some of that back last
month. I'll have to settle for 8 percentage points.

I remain bullish on gold, oil, agriculture, and Asian currencies. And
I'm staying away from financials.
