Levon Helm, live Tuesday at 12:00 noon EDT on wdvx.com. Who know's,
he's in town, so maybe Levon hisself will make an appearance. Hard
core country so it might not be suitable for the gentrified.
Last week I saw Abigail Washburn and the Sparrow Quartet featuring
Bela Fleck. Didn't post about that but wish I had. One of the more
riveting performances I've seen in a while. A little hard to
describe. Maybe something like symphonic bluegrass-blues-folk fusion.
Two banjos, a chello, and a five string violin. A new collaboration
of some great musicians. If you ever get a chance to see them I
recommend it.
I only post about this because I know there are at least a few music
lovers here and these live free noontime shows sometimes feature well
know performers in a very small venue, probably seats 50 or 60
people, with standing room for a few more. A little midday break
from the stress of stock trading. I'll quit posting about this if
nobody wants to hear it.
