If you think doctors, lawyers, teachers and engineers aren't affected, you
are much more stupid than you act on usenet, even. When everyone's wages
are depressed by illegal workers, there is less money in the general
economy
and that affects everyone, ESPECIALLY professionals. For one quick
example,
when you are earning less money due to illegal workers, you probably can't
afford to see your doctor as often as you need to. (Even if you are lucky
enough to have medical insurance, there is still deductibles and co-pays.)
So your doctor has fewer billable hours and/or fewer billable services.
Notice how so many doctors are dropping out of the medical field in the
U.S.? Now you know one huge reason why. Doctors in particular are
DIRECTLY
affected by illegal workers. I won't even mention all the hospitals that
have been forced to close by laws compelling them to treat illegal aliens
