Japan industrial output falls 3.1% on month in March, worse than
expected 0.7% decline tipped by economists polled by Dow Jones/Nikkei;
follows 1.6% increase in previous month. Data confirms worries that
U.S. economic slowdown weighing on Japanese ex****ts, may drag down
overall economy. Outlook remains bleak as ex****ts to U.S. unlikely to
pick up in near term while domestic demand may remain weak amid high
material, food prices, which hurt domestic consumption
