NO! The people that did these loans would loaned to blow up dolls if they
could have done so.  The borrowers were just so much meat for the greed
grinder.

Yes.  So it would not have mattered about whether or not they knew the
true financial conditions of the borrowers.  This entire mess was created
by the Gingrich Congress during the Republican all out attack
leading up the impeachment of Bill Clinton.  Bill Clinton either signed or
the Republicans would STILL BE IN TOTAL CONTROL AND LYING ALL THE WAY TO
THE NEXT WORLD.  As it was the Democrats won the White House (and Gore got
screwed out of it) and they evened up the Senate.  When the left gets all
over Clinton I get angry as hell.  Look at how the current (P)resident
handles adversity....  You like it?  You think a Clinton veto of a tax cut
would have helped?  Political realities are what they are and Gingrich and
the Republicans were responsible for BOTH the Dot Com bubble and the
Housing Bubble.
