I personally can afford the price of energy and from a personal standpoint 
would only be concerned about shortages.  I'm more concerned about the 
economic future of the country.  We continue to make producing countries 
wealthy and become more dependent on them at the cost of huge debts and
our 
economic prosperity.  I do believe there are ways to become an energy 
independent country and that this s/b a top priority with some reasonably 
intelligent plans immediately put into place.  Instead, the main thing we 
hear is ba****ng of the US oil companies and the fact that Bush has an oil 
background.  I fail to see that this is solving anything.  In fact, I
wonder 
where we would be without the US oil companies?
