ESCANABA — A 20-year-old Escanaba man is going to prison for
assaulting a woman he attempted to rob at knifepoint at her Gladstone
home last May.
Tim Chamberlain was sentenced to 40 months to up to 10 years in prison
Wednesday in Delta County Circuit Court on a charge of assault with
intent to rob while armed. He was also sentenced to 239 days in jail —
the amount of jail time he has already served in Delta County Jail
since his arrest — on a charge of home invasion, third degree. The
sentences are to be served concurrently.

He also said his time in jail has strengthened him to change his
perspective on life. According to his attorney, Jessica Bray,
Chamberlain’s goal is to become a pastor.
