The US dollar is competing against precious metals & oil as the
reserve currency of the world.
Most Americans dont' realise how much of their wealth is due to other
countries holding US dollars as their reserve and trading in dollars.
Oil countries alone trade over a trillion in dollars. Sooner or later
they will switch to a basket of currencies and commodities if the US
dollar continues its fall. Its a tightrope US is walking and all
those baby boomer's retirement nest eggs are riding on the outcome.
