You have as much economic a***en as a chipmunk.  There is __**NO**__
reason for the oil companies that are sucking economic rent from the
inelasticities of both supply and demand to want to innovate a damned
thing.  They aren't stupid and the have a fiduciary responsibility to the
shareholders to maximize accounting profits.  They want
__**NOTHING**__ to change.  They must be taxed and the proceeds used to
spur innovation.  That is how you bust a monopoly.
